California Life Exam Day Tips: Calm Prep That Actually Helps

Exam day is logistics plus pacing. The content work should already be done.

Night before

Confirm the appointment in your PSI account at https://test-takers.psiexams.com/cadi. Set two alarms. Lay out your government photo ID. Skim your miss log for 20 minutes, then stop.

Do not open a new chapter at 11 p.m. Sleep beats one more video.

Arrival and ID

Arrive at least 30 minutes early. Late arrivals are not seated and forfeit the fee.

Bring one valid government-issued photo ID with signature. The name must match your PSI registration and must not be expired. Driver's license, passport, military ID, permanent resident card, and similar IDs are listed in PSI's bulletin.

What stays outside

Phones, watches, notes, bags, and study sheets stay out of the testing room. PSI provides scratch paper or an LCD writing tablet at center exams. Return it when you finish.

Pacing

Combined exam: 150 scored questions, 195 minutes. Life-Only or A&H: 75 questions, 105 minutes. Unscored experimental items may appear and still use time.

First pass: answer what you know. Flag the rest. Second pass: spend your remaining minutes on flags. Do not burn five minutes arguing with one stem.

During the tutorial

The computer tutorial can take up to 15 minutes and does not count against exam time. Use it if the interface is new. Then start clean.

After you submit
